About Me

Being born in Bulgaria and moving to the UK at a young age meant that I grew up in a multi-cultural, bilingual household while still travelling back to visit grandparents (and the beach). The mixture of cultures brought many stories of tradition and folk tales, that interested me in different mythologies from around the world; From The English Arthurian legends surrounding Merlin, The Stone Wedding from Bulgaria or general Greek Mythology. Tales of the world have always intrigued me.

Reading is one of my favourite pass times, with genres that range from the mystical mythologies or budding contemporary romances. My first obsession was the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. From then on I became a bookworm, reading book after book, completing series after series. I also spent my own time researching and reading about old Greek mythology, my favourite story was about Icarus and his flight too close to the sun. Now I read a lot more romance books, while fantasy is still a love of mine, I've recently preferred a more contemporary feel to the stories I read.
As well as reading, another favourite hobby of mine is dance. I've always had a love for dance, from just watching videos on YouTube, dancing around my kitchen to music or begging to go to the odd dance lessons growing up. When I was younger, I attended a range of classes that taught Ballet, Latin-American and Modern. I took part in my secondary school musicals as a back up dancer. Currently, I attend Ballroom and Latin alongside Salsa.

I never had an interest in writing growing up. In school it was a fun task for creative writing, but it was never a passion of mine. That was until I was tasked to write a 5 minute short script in my first year at university. The catch was, we were only allowed 50 words of dialogue. It was a challenge, but it sparked something for me, an excitement on how I can control a story from a different perspective, and not just through the camera like I'd done before. From then on, I've been itching to write more and more scripts and geared my focus towards screenwriting as a career.

My scripts range from feature, to shorts and series, but I have a soft spot for television. While I love film, television will always have a soft spot in my heart as you get to watch the characters grow as people for a longer period of time and stay with the same people through their trials and tribulations around their world.
Education
In college, I studied Creative Media Production at BTEC level, where I learnt about film, TV and radio. I had the chance to make multiple projects, of which my favourite include, a music video, documentary and a factual radio piece. I left college with a D*D*D*.

My first year of University, I attended Royal Holloway to study Film, Television and Digital Production. There I had a chance to learn more about the theory of film, focusing on its history and critical analysis. We also created a short documentary. This was where I got my first real taste for screenwriting, when I wrote my first short film piece: Mirror, Mirror.

For my second and third year at university, I transferred to the University of Chichester to study Digital Film Production and Screenwriting. Alongside working on film productions, I had a bigger chance to learn about screenwriting and I fell in love with it. Now I have completed multiple short films, a couple TV episodes and a feature film script.
